Muay Thai Fighter On Strength and Power

POWER= The rate at which work is performed or work is converted.

Muscular Strength= A muscles ability to generate force against an object.

The Role of power can best be explained as how fast an object can get from it’s starting position to it’s destination the fastest time possible. In sport, it’s extremely important to develop and train this component if you want to be a deadly athlete. The more power you have, the faster you’re able to strike.

For example, To jump into the air an athlete must overcome his bodyweight and gravity. The heavier the athlete, the more strength and force it will take to get him/her off the ground. A 200 pound athlete would need 201 pounds of force to get off the ground. A 150 pound athlete would need 151 pounds of force to do the same. They key here is the net force. The individual applying more pounds of force to the ground will be stronger and therefore more explosive.

My man David Hughes, who owns and operates a gym in Madrid, shows us just how important this can be. David is a champion Muay Thai fighter and knows his stuff.

The role of strength and power go hand in hand. As Dave strikes his opponent with more force, more power will be produced. The more power you have the more deadly you’ll become. Strength and power are critical in the development of an athlete. The more strength and power produced the better of a chance you will have to dominate the competition.

New Talent Coming To The Gym!?

We’ve already had some verbal commits from some of these guys and I can tell you that it’s going to be night and day with what happens to them in the program. I tell you that it’s truly amazing to see some of these kids add slabs of muscle over their training regimen throughout the summer.

Strength is the foundation then comes the improvement of athleticism. Some of these kids had no idea that what would happen would make them become a much better athlete over a period of time. The mental toughness endured throughout training is what makes a regular athlete turn into a super athlete. It’s almost like comparing Clark Kent and Superman.

It’s going to be an awesome ride as these guys go through their own personal journey in the weight room. The select few that make it will become better all around on and off the field. Success through a positive mind is the key! To be strong is the adoption and implementation of that forgoing sentence.

Remember it!

Who’s Next?

It’s a well known fact that hard work and dedication pay off! If anyone has any other way I’d like to know about cause winning the lottery although can be a dream come true, most end up back right where they left off with lack of discipline.

Now! This post is not about how you can save money and invest it for the future, but rather about the blood, sweat, and tears you have to go through and endure along the way to get results and achieve greatness.

Everyday athletes come in and out of The Forged Athlete gym in Omaha NE to sweat and fatigue themselves for their learning experience and growth in training. This gym is a not just a place where big people throw around heavy ass shi*t  and grunt until their nuts swell up to the size of coconuts because although we lift some really heavy weight we do not and will not encourage big ego’s.

The Gym humbles you or at least it should because there’s no place for macho men and spiky hair here. It can be down right hot as hell in there, but rewarding at the same time.

No fancy equipment…

No showers…

No towel service except the shirt off your back…

Why?

Because we believe that in order to turn kids into men you have to have the right atmosphere and the things we mentioned above won’t cut it. If you want to win you must pay the price! Nothing great is ever given because you won’t ever appreciate it in anyway so it’s better to work your ass off and earn it yourself!

Yes people quit our gym! They do so because they either have it and don’t want it or want it, but don’t have it. It all comes down to making a simple decision with your smart bomb “brain” to get what you want and never losing site of what you see in your mind.

Through out this post you have seen random pictures presented before you. The point is, that these athletes have sacrificed a lot of their time and energy into training. Some have dropped significant weight while others added tons of rugged rock hard muscle to their frame.

Persistence is the key! Be like these guys who train day in and day out. If your having a hard time doing that maybe it’s time you join this group and see where the yellow brick road takes you. It’s not worth guessing and wondering how and what to do! The game plan is here…

Who’s going to be next?

Shot Caller Big Baller

Do you want to be a shot caller or big baller and advance to the next level of your game? The answer to that question should be a definite yes! In our latest events taking place at the forged athlete gym we had three professional basketball players come in for a workout!

These guys learned quick as to what the sandbag training and kettle bell training will do for athletes who have not discovered the importance to what these tools can do for performance.

In sports it’s often the smallest change in approach that separates winning from loosing. These athletes decided to make a change in their workout for the day and found that the gym was over what they expected to experience!

These guys are on the right track and doing the necessary things in order to get stronger faster and more explosive for their sport. It takes and iron mind and determination to go through workouts like this, but only the strong survive.

I’ll go on to say that, “The Difference Between A Successful Person And Others Is Not A Lack Of Strength, Not A Lack Of Knowledge, But Rather A Lack Of Will.”

Omaha Sports Performance – Push Pull Supersets For Strength

There are many ways to put supersets together.

Supersets are great at helping increase work capacity and increasing volume in a short amount of time.

When it comes to athletic training, workouts need to be highly effective.  You do NOT want athletes standing around.

Unless you are lifting very heavy weights, rest period should be minimal.

At the Forged Athlete Gym in Omaha NE, we don’t believe in set rest periods.  We like to “push the pace” and let the athletes control the tempo of the workout.

More advanced athletes will rest less than beginner athletes.  The key is to push the pace of the workout and fire through sets.

In this video posted, one of our MMA fighters is going through a few push/pull supersets.

The first is with weighted chain push ups paired up will standing row pulls.

One thing you will notice is that he does NOT go to failure.  We are huge believers in leaving a few reps in the tank.  This will do wonders in helping build strength and power.

The second super set is with front Kettlebell Squats and Feet elevated hip extensions.

These are two movements that are great at building lower body strength and power.

If you’re an athlete looking to increase strength, power, and conditioning, supersets are great and essential to add into your training routines!

If you looking for more, and you want a program that will put you to work and help you get results, find out how you can get FASTER, STRONGER, BIGGER, and QUICKER!

Call today for your FREE trial workout while there are still spots open!  Only SERIOUS athletes!
